Visit of Kerstin Vieregge (Member of Bundestag)

by Van der Heijden (comments: 0)

Kerstin Vieregge, member of the Bundestag, visited us in April

Once again it shows that the routes and connections from Lippe to all over the world are short and very direct: We export our laboratory coolers from Dörentrup-Humfeld to all over the world. We are proud that our company has been one of the international market leaders for customer-specific solutions in this area for years! For Kerstin Vieregge, member of the Bundestag, van der Heijden is one of the "hidden champions" in Lippe. During a visit to our site, she found out about the current situation and perspectives.

Mirko Laskowski (CEO) names the highest quality and great flexibility in the implementation of customer requirements as success factors for the company. He is satisfied with the order situation and with a strong parent company behind him, millions of investments are being made locally. The CDU politician is impressed by the new warehouse and the truck loading ramp. "Our products are designed, created, packaged and shipped from here in Humfeld," explains the managing director. Especially in the last few months, the storage space gained with the new hall has already proven itself and processes have been made more efficient. Van der Heijden is also optimistic about the future in view of global competition. "Laboratories and university institutes, industry, science and research appreciate our products and our service," Laskowski is sure.

Van der Heijden has grown significantly in recent years and is always looking for qualified employees. The shortage of skilled workers is very noticeable in the field of refrigeration technology. In 2022, three more trainees will start, and here, too, efforts are being made to constantly promote young people.

Of course, the general problems of the corona pandemic have also left their mark on Van der Heijden. Although the crisis was successfully mastered in retrospect, increased fixed costs and the more difficult purchase of materials are clearly noticeable.

When she asked about energy and sustainability aspects, Vieregge received detailed information: the company's efforts range from the hall roof equipped with photovoltaics to heat recovery during test runs of the products and the separation of all residual materials. "I find it very impressive that even cardboard boxes are reused," says the MP, praising the sustainability.
